Senior UX Designer who is able to use design and prototyping software to expert level (Figma) is required by leading global publishing client in central London.
Company Introduction
This role\’s primary focus is to explore and define an API Developer Portal built by the Shared Technology team. Ideally, the successful candidate will be a curious and Senior Designer with experience in designing software tools for engineers and working alongside content designers. This role requires strong research skills to discover user needs, as well as prototyping skills to quickly visualize and test concepts before delivering production-ready assets using the Design system.
Leading the user-centred design strategy, you\’re an expert user of design tools like Figma. Interactive prototyping will be a critical area for the role. You will represent the end users perspective in product strategy meetings. You will also work as part of a larger design team and attend weekly design reviews.
Required Skills/Experience
1. Good knowledge of the tech stack of the product or organization
2. Able to use design and prototyping software to expert level (Figma)
3. Comprehensive understanding on how to explore data from common analytics packages, customer insight summaries, or other sources to provide evidence and supporting context for work
4. Understands the nuances of researching in different contexts
5. Is capable of identifying gaps where data is needed
Job Responsibilities/Objectives
1. Uses processes that are good at discovering customer needs and product design options
2. Can create UI design patterns or product processes that adapt to customer needs
3. Is adept at remaining current on news/incidents and understands what is happening in the market and with competitors
4. Can initiate and drive for user research opportunities to validate designs and gain deeper understanding of the users\’ needs
5. Is learning how to be an effective mentor and people manager via coaching and managing team KPOs
6. Is capable of inspiring the team to want learn more about users and how to best meet their needs
7. Uses intermediate skills in iterating and testing solutions to check they solve the problem
8. Is capable of working proactively and effectively with technology, product and other key stakeholders to come up with new and creative ideas
9. Can ensure the team is working within a set of design principles and style guides which reflect user needs and company brand using the companies design system
10. Can contribute to the companies design system with new patterns, components if needed
