Location: Birmingham office – 3 days a week on-site (non-negotiable)
Salary/Rate: Up to £273 a day inside ir35
Start Date: September / October 2025

We are looking for a Project Manager Assistant to join our client in the Rail Transportation industry.
Overview
The successful candidate will support the delivery of 40-50 minor works projects per year, each valued between £50k-£300k, across the Central Route portfolio. All projects follow a consistent assurance process and are focused on delivering work safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to passengers and freight. The successful candidate must be able to work onsite in Birmingham three days a week.
You will play a key role in supporting project setup, documentation, stakeholder coordination, and administrative functions.
Required Skills/Experience
- Previous experience in project support or administration
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
- Ability to work independently and proactively without close supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Commercial and financial awareness
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel and general IT skills
- Highly organised and detail-oriented
- Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously
Job Responsibilities/Objectives
- Assist the Project Management team in delivering projects to time, cost, and quality standards
- Collate, format, and distribute project data to internal and external stakeholders
- Monitor and report on project progress using established reporting systems
- Maintain and generate project documentation in line with reporting guidelines
- Participate in project activities and meetings, including minute-taking
- Ensure all relevant paperwork is in place prior to site work commencement
- Support document control and SharePoint management
- Help organise and streamline the Citadel system for project tracking and reporting
- Interface with stakeholders to ensure external parties are informed and aligned
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Familiarity with SharePoint and document control processes
- Experience using the Citadel system
- Ability to interpret and apply project processes and standards
