We are seeking an experienced Scrum Delivery Manager (SDM) to lead the delivery of high-quality, high-value software into production within an asset management environment. This role is hands-on and delivery-focused, sitting close to front-office investment functions, portfolio management, and trading teams.
You will be responsible for ensuring agile teams deliver working software that meets real business needs, while continuously improving ways of working.
The Role:
- Deliver working software of the highest business value into production
- Own and manage the product backlog in partnership with the Product Owner and Business Analyst
- Plan, organise and coordinate delivery across sprint and release cycles
- Track, report and communicate progress, risks and dependencies
- Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives)
- Drive continuous improvement, coaching teams in agile best practices
- Ensure strong alignment between business stakeholders and development teams
- Support release management and CI/CD-driven delivery
Key Responsibilities:
You will work closely with Product Owners, Business Users and Engineering teams to:
- Prioritise backlog items from epics through to user stories
- Maintain a clear, transparent and accurate view of the outstanding backlog
- Provide a forward-looking view of upcoming deliverables and releases
- Ensure the highest-priority business outcomes are being addressed
- Improve delivery velocity, predictability and quality through continuous improvement
Required Experience & Skills
Domain & Business Knowledge
- Asset Management financial products (at a foundational level)
- Strong understanding of front-to-back trade lifecycle
- Good knowledge of portfolio management and trading operating models
- Good knowledge of investment functions within an institutional fund management environment
- Experience working with front-office and portfolio management teams
Delivery & Agile
- Experience as a Scrum Master / Delivery Manager
- Expert knowledge of SDLC and iterative delivery within an agile framework
- Proven experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies and coaching agile teams
- Strong experience running retrospectives and embedding continuous improvement
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
Technical & Tooling
- Proven technical background (CI/CD, release management, engineering delivery)
- Strong experience with agile tooling such as Jira
- Ability to collaborate effectively with developers and technical SMEs
Stakeholder & Collaboration
- Demonstrated ability to gather and document business requirements (from high-level through to detailed requirements)
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to create transparency and shared understanding
- Comfortable operating between business and technology teams
