Job Title: Data Modeler (London Markets / Insurance / Re-Insurance)
Location: London (Hybrid)
Salary/Rate: Up to £595 per day
Start Date: October 2025
Job Type: Inside IR35 contract
Company Introduction: We are currently representing a global professional services client who are recruiting for a highly skilled data modeler to work on a project in the insurance / re-insurance industry.
Note: Familiarity with London Markets or Specialty Insurance / Re Insurance (Inwards) industry data domains & terminology is a MUST HAVE for this role.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain data models (Logical and Physical) to support business needs ensuring data integrity and efficiency.
- Design and govern data architecture and integration standards across Azure Data Factory and Databricks to enable integrated analytics solution.
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable data architecture supporting analytics and digitalization agenda in a cross-functional team of architects from business and technology
- Manage the Information Management framework, architecture, processes, and solutions
- Be responsible for strategic roadmaps that describe the journey to target state for all Data & Analytics domains
- Review high-level designs and implementations to ensure quality, coherence and consistency with Enterprise Data architecture
- Deliver standards and patterns, controls to deploy services in a standard and repeatable way
Required Skills/Experience
- Familiarity with London market or speciality Insurance/Re Insurance(Inwards) industry data domains and terminology is MUST
- Proficiency with data modelling tools like Erwin
- Extensive experience in hands-on design, engineering, administration, and implementation of comprehensive systems and architectures in an insurance enterprise are preferred
- Understanding of insurance domain concepts with hands-on experience in data modelling is required
- Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL/ELT pipelines
- Experience with Azure Data Factory and Databricks including orchestrating and designing data pipelines for secure data solutions are preferred
- Industry certifications in Azure, Databricks or data architecture is advantageous
- Understanding and knowledge of system development life cycle methodologies (such as agile software development, rapid prototyping, incremental, synchronise and stabilise, and DevOps)
