Job Title:Data Engineer - Snowflake&DBT
Location: London (3 days in office)
Salary/Rate: £600-700 per day inside IR35
Start Date: End of September
Job Type: Initial 3-4 month contract (possibility of extension)

Company Introduction
We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading consultancy clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Data Engineer with Snowflake & DBT Specialist to join the data engineering team of a global asset manager, supporting Aladdin use-case development and the modernisation of legacy data processes.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives
The role will focus on building scalable, cloud-native data solutions using Snowflake and dbt, alongside broader data engineering and platform optimisation.

  • Develop and maintain data pipelines and transformations using Snowflake, dbt, SQL and Python.
  • Build modular, version-controlled dbt models and automated data quality tests.
  • Support migration of legacy/on-premise processes to cloud-native architectures.
  • Manage the data lifecycle from ingestion through to downstream outputs.
  • Implement data governance, lineage and quality controls.
  • Optimise Snowflake compute, warehouses and storage for performance and cost.
  • Work with developers, testers and offshore teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Support Aladdin use cases and wider data platform development.

Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Strong Data Engineering background.
  • Extensive hands‑on experience with Snowflake and dbt.
  • Aladdin experience is a very nice to have
  • Strong SQL and Python skills.
  • Experience building data pipelines and modern cloud data architectures.
  • Experience with data quality, governance and lineage.
  • Experience modernising or migrating legacy data processes.

Desirable Skills/Experience
Although not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:

  • Asset / investment management or financial services experience.
  • Aladdin experience.
  • Databricks experience.Working knowledge of Informatica.
  • Experience with cloud migration and Modern Data Stack environments.
