Job Responsibilities/Objectives

We are looking for an experienced Cable Engineer to support fibre installation projects, working as part of a team delivering PIA installation works across overhead and underground networks.

1. Deliver PIA installation works as part of a team
2. Carry out rodding and roping, fibre blowing, and heavy cable pulling
3. Install fibre optic cables (overhead and underground) on FTTH networks
4. Work with UTP, fibre, and CATV cabling
5. Ensure compliance with Safety at Street Works and Road Works regulations
6. Set up and manage site operations in line with NRSWA requirements
7. Supervise traffic management where required
8. Understand and follow permit and noticing requirements
9. Read schematics and produce as-built drawings

Required Skills/Experience

The ideal candidate will have the following:

1. Background in civil works
2. Proven track record installing cabling in Openreach ducts and infrastructure (overhead and underground)
3. BT PIA Accreditation\’s: S0001, S0002, S7, S8
4. NRSWA Units 1 & 2
5. Clean UK driving licence
6. Confined Space certification
7. K08
8. IPAF 1b
9. SA051C
