We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading consultancy clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Lead Business Analyst / Project Manager to support a major sustainability-focused technology initiative as part of the Tech Net Zero Programme. The programme is aimed at enhancing environmental data management, driving alignment across IT infrastructure, and supporting the organisation's carbon reduction goals.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

While broad delivery expertise is required, our primary need is for someone with deep experience in hardware and data centre asset management – including the decommissioning of legacy infrastructure.
In light of current programme delays and expected gaps in asset data and processes, a dedicated lead is required to coordinate Business Analysts and reporting experts. You will oversee multiple workstreams to ensure energy methodology alignment, data consistency, and robust governance.

* Lead and coordinate Business Analysts and reporting teams across multiple workstreams, ensuring consistent documentation, prioritisation, and delivery.
* Oversee all aspects of hardware and data centre asset management, including:
o Asset inventory validation and lifecycle tracking
o Decommissioning of legacy hardware in line with energy and sustainability goals
o Planning for infrastructure optimisation and capacity
* Drive alignment across energy methodologies and reporting practices.
* Support the creation of a common data dictionary and clear documentation of data requirements.
* Build and manage project plans (using MS Project), tracking risks, milestones, and interdependencies.
* Conduct stakeholder workshops and structured interviews to gather and validate business and technical requirements.
* Model current and future-state processes using Visio and Confluence.
* Maintain project governance artefacts including RAID logs, decision registers, and weekly status updates.
* Escalate blockers and risks promptly while ensuring adherence to regulatory and internal governance standards.

Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:

* Strong track record in hybrid Business Analyst / Project Manager roles delivering complex tech-enabled change.
* Extensive experience with hardware and data centre asset management
* Experience in planning and executing infrastructure decommissioning.
* Proficient in managing multiple workstreams and cross-functional delivery teams.
* Deep understanding of project delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
* Strong knowledge of MS Project, Visio, Confluence, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
* Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and facilitation skills across business and IT domains.
* Ability to manage ambiguity and drive clarity in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

Desirable Skills/Experience
Although not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:

* Experience in sustainability, ESG, or Net Zero initiatives, particularly involving IT infrastructure or emissions reporting.
* Background in banking or financial services environments with robust governance frameworks.
* Familiarity with enterprise data governance and environmental reporting standards.
