Job Title: AWS Glue and Redshift Developer

Location: Central London (On Site 2-3 days per week)

Salary/Rate: Up to Β£385 per day (Inside IR35)

Start Date: 01/10/2025 – contract running until 31/12/2025

Company Introduction

We are currently looking for an experienced cloud data developer to join a forward-thinking team on a long-term engagement. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys designing data pipelines and working with modern AWS technologies to deliver scalable and efficient solutions.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives:

  • Creating and maintaining ETL/ELT workflows with AWS Glue to process data from a variety of sources.
  • Setting up and administering Redshift clusters, ensuring cost-effective scaling and high performance.
  • Developing robust SQL queries, procedures, and transformations to support reporting and analytics.
  • Ensuring accuracy, quality, and governance standards are met across all data processes.
  • Investigating and resolving issues affecting pipeline performance or data integrity.
  • Contributing to continuous improvements in architecture by keeping pace with AWS innovations.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Strong practical knowledge of AWS Glue and Redshift, including data catalogues, pipelines, and stored procedure development.
  • Advanced SQL expertise, covering query optimisation, analytics functions, and transformation design.
  • Solid programming skills in Python, Java, Node.js or .NET.
  • Familiarity with Agile practices, test-driven development, and code management tools such as Git.
  • Background in data modelling, warehousing techniques, and large-scale integration projects.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication abilities.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • AWS certifications in development or data analytics.
  • Previous experience with Snowflake or similar data platforms.
  • Exposure to BI or data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Hands-on experience with wider AWS services, e.g. S3, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, and networking/VPC.
