Salary/Rate: £600-700 a day

About the Project

We are seeking an experienced Android Developer to work within Public Sector/Government. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing Android applications and will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality mobile applications. You will be part of the Product Team and report to the Product Tech Lead.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Eligible and willing to obtain UK Government Security Clearance (i.e. must have lived in the UK for the last 5 years)
  • Strong technical skillset and engineering of developing Android applications
  • Knowledge of Kotlin programming languages
  • Experience with Android SDK, Android Studio and Gradle build system
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and JSON
  • Experience with Git version control system
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • A team player with excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field

Deliverables

  • Design and develop advanced applications for the Android platform
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
  • Work with outside data sources and APIs
  • Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
  • Continuously discover, evaluate and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to the team
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure that the code is of high quality
  • Ensure that the applications are secure and follow best practices for data protection
