Square Mile Farms is on a mission to integrate farms into everyday city life to create inspiring places and experiences that bring people and organisations together and empower them to make healthier and more sustainable food and lifestyle choices. We do this by installing and managing hydroponic grow systems into urban areas, such as corporate offices, co-working spaces, apartment buildings, universities, hotels, etc., so people can grow and consume their own zero miles, ultra-fresh salad greens and herbs where they live and work.
We are looking for our next Junior Client Manager to own a portfolio of our clients and the communities that enjoy our farms. The key purpose of this role is to provide an extraordinary client experience which results in client retention and growth. The ideal candidate will be highly personable to establish unbreakable relationships, possess exceptional communication skills, and have a proactive mindset to treat their client portfolio like their own mini business. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a growing and mission-led start-up.
Key Responsibilities- Client Management: Be the main relationship holder for day-to-day management of a portfolio of accounts, their farms, and their community. Work with a wide range of large and exciting companies such as Vodafone, Mindful Chef, Fora, and Netflix. Create exceptional relationships with the contacts at client companies at lower and senior levels and understand how we are adding value to them/solving a problem for them. Work closely and consultatively with your client stakeholders to understand their business, respond to their needs, and identify opportunities to engage the community (e.g. tying into their annual events programme or ESG strategy).
- Commercial Focus: Proactively drive revenue opportunities and grow the revenue of your accounts through a larger farm, through other sites, through events, or through simply increasing the monthly recurring revenue. Forecast when opportunities might close and revenue achieved. Ensure contracts are renewed at the end of their cycle and that we minimise churn. Be fluent in the commercial terms/value of your portfolio. Support broader sales initiatives in conjunction with the Exec team and actively identify enterprise opportunities.
- Amplify The Experience: Own your client’s ‘kick off’ experience - onboard new accounts, ensure their operational set up, share key content and messaging for internal promotion. Support client harvests and events to amplify the SMF experience, meet stakeholders, and gauge reception for feedback. Potentially work with external partnership brands to enhance the experience. Work closely with the Marketing team to put together engaging content and materials.
- Operational Excellence: Keep the CRM (Hubspot) up to date with appropriate level of commercial and operational detail and follow processes. Work mindfully collaboratively across SMF to coordinate client activities and resolve problems. Consistently highly communicative across the business delivering feedback, insights, content, etc. Proactively support Head of Client Management to achieve business area objectives.
- Projects: Support the development of the Client Management team by executing projects related to commercial, strategy, operational, client experience, process, or team enhancement. Add value outside of the day-to-day requirements of the role by taking on company-wide value driving projects (e.g. managing social community groups, EEG, etc.).
- Most importantly, the right attitude. Enthusiasm, proactivity, desire to learn.
- Extraordinary interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- A strong and mindful communicator.
- Professionalism - someone who can represent the business optimally with client stakeholders at all levels.
- Commercially/entrepreneurially minded.
- Strong organisational skills and management of a To Do list.
- 1-2 years experience in a relevant field.
