Exciting opportunity to join an international, Non-Banking Financial Institution. The successful candidate will manage a small team and will be responsible for overseeing the production of complex financial reports, reconciliations and ensuring that internal and external deadlines are met.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing a team of 4.
- Managing the production of complex financial reports, providing timely data for internal/external partners and ensuring that all relevant deadlines are met.
- Providing updates to Senior Managers as required.
- Maintaining a program for on-going monitoring of controls to ensure compliance with policies and procedures for all aspects of processing.
- Acting as a main point of contact for internal/external Audit and Compliance.
- Preparing and reviewing corporation tax and VAT computations.
- Reviewing and verifying work of team members.
- Team performance appraisals, salary recommendations, performance management etc.
- Coaching and developing team members.
- Remaining up to date on all regulatory changes that may impact regulatory reporting.
- Adhering to governance and control framework, ensuring prompt escalation of any delays, errors, or omissions.
- Developing and documenting policies/procedures, including reconciliation processes and sign-off procedures for major returns.
- Working closely with the Risk team on reporting projects.
- Maintaining internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points.
- Ad-hoc duties as required.
Skills/Experience:
- Fully qualified Accountant (i.e. ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Previous experience of working within Banking and/or Financial Services - Advantageous.
- Previous experience of working in a supervisory / managerial role.
- Experience in the application of GAAP principles.
- Experience in the application of IFRS Accounting Standards.
- Experience of developing and implementing Financial Controls.
- Strong understanding of financial risk.
- Strong communications skills.
