Introduction: We are looking for a Nurse Unit Manager to join a well-established company and a dedicated team. This role offers a great opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause while developing your career in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise nursing, HCA, OSCE and ancillary staff on the unit.
  • Create and manage staff rotas, delegate duties, monitor performance, and enforce professional standards.
  • Support and develop junior staff through preceptorship and mentorship programs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, CQC standards, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Conduct audits, risk assessments and ensure safeguarding protocols are upheld.
  • Maintain effective communication with families, professionals, and service users.
  • Promote a person-centred care approach in line with statutory requirements.
  • Oversee clinical care planning and documentation.
  • Support recruitment, staff training and in-house development initiatives.
  • Ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the unit including on-call duties.
  • Lead regular team meetings and drive service improvement.
  • Manage supplies, budgeting for value-driven care, and building maintenance compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records for internal and external inspection.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN, or RNLD) preferred or demonstrable experience in elderly care services.
  • Minimum of three years management experience in a similar setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities).
  • Strong leadership, clinical, communication and administrative skills.
  • Experience with staff supervision, training and audit processes.
  • Confident in decision-making, with a diplomatic and proactive approach.
  • Fully COVID-19 vaccinated or medically exempt in accordance with current guidelines.
