HEAD CHEF – SANREMO ITALIAN RESTAURANT

Salary: £40,000–£50,000 per year, depending on experience.

Sanremo Italian Restaurant is looking for an experienced, passionate and highly organised Head Chef to lead our kitchen team.

This is a senior position for a confident chef who can take full responsibility for kitchen operations while maintaining consistently high standards of Italian cuisine, presentation and service.

The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent kitchen management experience and the ability to lead a busy service while maintaining quality, controlling costs and developing the kitchen team.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen
• Lead, manage, motivate and develop the kitchen team
• Ensure consistently high standards of food quality, taste and presentation
• Maintain the quality and identity of our Italian menu
• Manage preparation and service during busy periods
• Manage kitchen rotas and staffing levels effectively
• Monitor food costs, portion control and kitchen profitability
• Manage stock, ordering, deliveries and stock rotation
• Control food waste and maintain effective kitchen cost management
• Maintain excellent food hygiene, HACCP and Health & Safety standards
• Ensure the kitchen is clean, organised and compliant at all times
• Train and develop chefs and junior kitchen team members
• Work closely with restaurant management and the front-of-house team
• Take ownership of kitchen performance and standards
• Contribute to menu development, seasonal dishes and specials

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for an experienced Head Chef or a highly experienced Sous Chef ready to progress into a Head Chef position.

A strong background in Italian or Mediterranean cuisine would be highly desirable.

You should be confident leading a team, managing a busy kitchen and maintaining consistently high standards during demanding services.

Strong organisational skills, reliability, leadership and commercial awareness are essential.
