The supply chain strategy and operations department are responsible for the provision of expert supply chain strategy and operational advice to clients that function within a fast-moving global environment. The team is made up of subject matter experts that work to an Account Director to deliver the client mandate. Job Overview / Introduction
As a senior consultant you will play a pivotal role in providing guidance and expertise to clients across various industries. You will be responsible for leading work packages, supporting complex client engagements that identify, design, and implement creative optimisation and transformation solutions. With your experience, you will contribute to business development efforts, be responsible for mentoring junior consultants, and support the success of the consulting practice.
Primary Roles And Responsibilities
- Squarcle Management Responsibilities
- Support the internal staffing processes including performance management of assigned individuals.
- Encourage effective working in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution.
- Conduct performance reviews and annual appraisals for performance appraisees.
- Coach and mentor team members within the individual’s area of expertise.
- Client Engagement and Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior clients, acting as a trusted advisor and aiming to ensure buy‑in for case for change and delivery approach.
- Understand client business objectives, challenges and industry trends.
- Collaborate with clients to identify areas for improvement and develop innovative solutions based upon specialist expertise and knowledge.
- Ensure high client satisfaction through effective communication and timely delivery of project milestones and deliverables.
- Engagement Management and Execution
- Lead consulting engagements from initiation to completion, ensuring successful project delivery and closure.
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with the client and consulting team.
- Provide subject-matter expertise, guidance and oversight to consultants, ensuring quality standards and processes of the client and Squarcle are followed.
- Business Development
- Identify and pursue follow‑on work and new business opportunities with existing and potential clients.

- Support the business development activities of Squarcle such as pursuit development and production of thought papers.
- Develop and refine Squarcle methods and processes.
- Support to wider team activities e.g., knowledge sessions, recruitment etc.
- Deputise for the manager during periods of absence.
Essential KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Degree or post graduate level qualification.
- 3-5 years’ experience of delivering supply chain and operations consulting projects with clients.
- Experience of managing and influencing senior internal and external stakeholders in a complex and challenging environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work in multi-disciplinary environments.
- Well‑developed core consulting skills e.g. research, analysis, presentation, and attention to detail.
- Advanced communication skills both written and verbal.
- Aptitude to grasp new concepts and effectively produce results.
- Exceptional problem‑solving skills; an analytical, innovative, and creative mindset.
- Exceptional client service.
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Suite; specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
- A worthy team player dedicated to contributing toward the outcome desired by the team.
- Successful candidates must be prepared to apply for, and pass security clearance, before they are appointed.
DESIRABLE
- Chartered Membership within a related field (e.g. logistics, procurement, supply chain).
- Project Management Qualification (Prince2, APM, Agile, Scrum etc).
- An understanding of the Defence support chain.
- Understanding of how advanced data analytics can be used within supply chain operations.
- User experience of an MRP/ERP system.
- Experience of developing Demand, Inventory, and Supply Planning policies.
- A relevant qualification in operational excellence (e.g. Lean Six Sigma).

Clearance must be obtained without any caveats that prevent you from carrying out the role you’ve been recruited for. Obtaining SC security clearance can be a lengthy process, and we reserve the right to withdraw any conditional offer made if the necessary security clearance isn’t obtained within 6 months.
