Reporting to a manager and working directly with the client, the Consultant Business Analyst provides independent expert advice to help identify and solve challenges, increase value and maximise business efficiency and profitability. The role involves working with the client’s senior leadership and support staff to create strategies, optimise processes and identify solutions that meet client needs. The role spans both project delivery and business development.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities
- Encourage effective working in diverse teams within an inclusive culture where people are recognised for their contribution.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior clients, acting as a trusted advisor and securing buy‑in for the case for change and delivery approach, particularly within supply chain and operational transformation programmes.
- Understand client business objectives, challenges and industry trends.
- Ensure high client satisfaction through effective communication and timely delivery of project milestones and deliverables.
- Contribute to engagement success by bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions through:
- Data collection and analysis: gather and analyse industry and market data to support business decisions.
- Requirement gathering: work closely with stakeholders to document business requirements.
- Process documentation: assist in documenting business processes and workflows.
- Support senior analysts and project managers in lifecycle activities.
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Assist in implementation of business solutions, including testing and feedback.
- Create and maintain reporting on project progress and performance metrics.
Qualifications and Experience (Essential)
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum 2:1) or higher in a related subject (Business Analytics, Business Management, Business Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or Logistics) or equivalent experience.
- Experience working as a Business Analyst.
- Core consulting skills: research, analysis, presentation and attention to detail.
- Exceptional interpersonal and client/customer service skills.
- Aptitude for grasping new concepts and producing effective outputs.
- Exceptional problem‑solving skills and a growth mindset.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and self‑directed, independent contributor.
- Ability to structure and manage intensive workloads.
- Ability to lead teams.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Must be prepared to apply for and pass security clearance before appointment.
Desirable
- Business Analyst qualification from BCS (Foundation or Practitioner level).
- Experience in the Defence sector.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI and Visio.
- High emotional intelligence for managing diverse clients and teams.
- Confidence and maturity to work with senior executives.

This role requires you to have lived in the UK for the last five years and to obtain a Security Check (SC) security clearance. Clearance must be obtained without any caveats that prevent you from carrying out the role you have been recruited for. If it is not obtained, or if it is obtained with caveats that prevent you from carrying out the role, any conditional offer will be withdrawn. We reserve the right to withdraw any conditional offer if the necessary security clearance is not obtained within six months. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship.
