Use your expertise to serve something bigger. As Defence Supply Chain Consultant, you’ll help transform the systems that keep the UK safe. You’ll work on high-impact projects that reimagine supply chains, modernise logistics, and drive innovation across critical programmes. It’s complex, meaningful work with real world consequences. If you\’re motivated by public purpose, driven to solve tough challenges, and want your ideas to shape the future – this is where you can make that happen.
Our structure
At Squarcle, we work in a matrix structure designed to support your growth and success. You’ll have a Performance Manager to guide your career development, an Engagement Manager to support your day-to-day project work, and a Capability Lead to ensure best practice across tools, people, and processes. Depending on your experience this role could sit within our Supply Chain or P3M Capability , where you’ll work closely with Libby , our P3M Capability Lead and Matt , our Supply Chain Capability Lead , and report into one of our Engagement Directors. Your Performance Manager and project assignment will be confirmed once your first engagement is agreed.
This is what you’ll be doing
As a Defence Supply Chain expert you’ll be joining us as we build depth across our capabilities and enhance our delivery excellence. This means there’s room for people to shape how we grow, not just keep up with it. Some of your key day to day activities will include:
- Lead and support supply chain improvement projects that make a real impact across Defence and related sectors
- Run workshops, map out current processes, dig into data, and help design smarter, future-ready supply chain models
- Take ownership of planning, reporting, and keeping things on track—making sure projects run smoothly and deliver real value
- Work side by side with programme managers, analysts, and subject matter experts to solve complex problems in practical, data-driven ways
- Get involved beyond delivery—shaping proposals, improving our tools, and helping us grow as a consultancy
We’ll continue develop and measure your success in the following areas
Each engagement will have a set of deliverables which you will be responsible for. We’ll measure your success in the following areas:
- You’ll know you’re succeeding when clients trust you, come back for more, and feel real impact from the work you’ve delivered
- Success means running projects smoothly – on time, on brief, and to a high standard that reflects well on everyone involved
- You’ll play a part in strengthening our internal community – sharing ideas, supporting colleagues, and helping us all get better
- We’ll value your ability to turn complex challenges into outcomes that matter – for both our clients and the future of our consultancy
Where you’ll be stretched (and thrive)
- Defence is a complex environment: You’ll be working within MOD frameworks where governance, assurance, and risk management are tightly controlled – so precision and patience matter.
- It’s a balancing act: You’ll juggle strategic transformation and day-to-day delivery across military, civilian, and industry stakeholders – each with their own priorities.
- There’s no autopilot: Projects move fast, timelines are tight, and things can get politically sensitive. You’ll need to lead with confidence, stay flexible, and keep delivery on track.
We think you’ll love
- Make a visible impact: You’ll shape projects from start to finish, turning insight into outcomes that matter – for clients and for the consultancy.
- Work with purpose and influence: You’ll engage with senior stakeholders, offer strategic advice, and help steer the direction of key programmes.
- Small team, big voice: In our close-knit consultancy, your ideas won’t just be heard – they’ll help shape how we grow, deliver, and evolve.
This isn’t just another consulting role. It’s a chance to be part of something growing, ambitious, and meaningful.
The skills you’ll need to succeed in this role
- You’ll have a background in Defence Supply Chain
- Ideally you’ll have one or some of the following: Project Management Qualification (PMQ) through the Association for Project Management (APM), Through Life Support (TLS), or Portfolio, Programme, and Project Management (P3M)
- We’ve left this fairly open, as we have a few roles at different levels. So as long as your tick the two areas above then we’d love to chat
How We’ll Assess Your Skills
Our interview process for this role will involve two steps:
Step 1: Meet with our Recruitment Manager, Corina. She’ll introduce you to Squarcle, the role, and answer any questions you may have about us. We’ll be assessing some basic skills for the role and finding out more about your background.
Step 2: Meet with members of our Supply Chain capability. The level of the role will dictate who you meet with and the shape of the interview. We will confirm this when you get to this stage.
What we offer
We believe great work deserves great rewards. Here’s what you can expect as part of the team:
- 26 days of annual leave (including your birthday!) plus UK bank holidays — increasing to 27 days after three years, and 28 after seven years
- You’ll also get five extra days for your five and 10 year anniversaries
- Additional leave for members of the Reserve Forces and CFAV.
- Private medical insurance (provided once you’ve completed your probation.)
- Milestone and life-event hampers to celebrate life’s big moments
- Funding for qualifications that benefit both you and the business
- Discounted travel through funded railcards
We review our benefits regularly to ensure they stay competitive and meaningful – so this list may evolve as we grow.
