As a Senior Consultant, you will lead client‑facing workstreams and provide independent expert advice to solve complex operational, digital and organisational challenges. You will shape problem statements, design pragmatic solutions, and oversee delivery of high‑quality outputs that meet Squarcle’s standards. Reporting to the Manager and working directly with the client, the consultant is responsible for the provision of independent expert advice to help identify and solve challenges, increase value, and maximise business efficiency and profitability.

Senior Consultants at Squarcle work across:

  • Delivery – leading analysis, process redesign, operating model development, digital enablement, transformation planning.
  • Business development – contributing to proposals, thought leadership, sector insights, and capability development.
  • Team development – mentoring Analysts and Consultants, strengthening Squarcle methods and knowledge base.

Primary Roles And Responsibilities

  • Lead workstreams within medium/large projects, ensuring outputs meet scope, time, cost, risk and quality parameters.
  • Develop artefacts such as Business Cases, Statements of Requirement, process maps, TOMs, task analysis, benefits frameworks, P3M documents and governance packs.
  • Curate, cleanse and interpret operational, supply chain and enterprise data to provide evidence‑based insights.
  • Facilitate workshops with senior stakeholders, translating findings into actionable solutions and implementation plans.
  • Build client trust through integrity, high emotional intelligence, and strong communication.
  • Drive governance processes, chair or support governance boards, and improve project delivery structures.
  • Manage risks proactively and escalate appropriately.
  • Apply structured problem‑solving techniques to diagnose issues and design solutions across strategy, operations, digital and people change.
  • Produce high‑quality reports, presentations and recommendations using Squarcle standards.
  • Coach junior team members in P3M, analysis and consulting approaches.

Digital & Data Capability

Understand how digital, AI and data products can support supply chain and logistics transformation.

Business Development

Contribute to proposals, thought pieces, bid writing and internal capability development. Represent Squarcle at client meetings, workshops, industry groups and knowledge sessions.

Secondary Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support recruitment, mentoring and career development of Analysts/Consultants.
  • Contribute to the development of Squarcle methodologies and internal IP.
  • Participate in training sessions, knowledge shares and company initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills And Experience (Essential)

  • Bachelor’s degree (2:1+) in a relevant field (engineering, business, operations, supply chain, digital, analytics).
  • 5+ years consulting experience, ideally in Defence, logistics, supply chain, digital or transformation roles.
  • Strong ability to decompose complex programmes into actionable work packages and help maintain delivery structure and controls across multiple suppliers.
  • Experience mapping requirements into structured models (functional, non‑functional, business rules) and maintaining end‑to‑end traceability from requirements to design / test / deployment.
  • Proficiency with project management and analysis tools (e.g., MS Project, Excel, Power BI, Jira, Confluence) to support WBS, schedule creation, planning and dashboarding.
  • Skilled at synthesising diverse inputs from engineering, training, COTS, testing, cyber, architecture into cohesive programme documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, capable of conveying complex ideas clearly and credibly.
  • Demonstrable experience working with multi‑disciplinary, multi‑organisation teams.
  • Ability to structure ambiguous problems, manage competing priorities, and deliver high‑quality work under time pressure.
  • Experience developing and delivering P3M coaching or guidance to colleagues.
  • Ability to build excellent client relationships, manage expectations and influence decisions.

Knowledge, Skills And Experience (Desirable)

  • Experience in Defence (e.g., approvals, business cases, review notes, acquisition processes).
  • Expertise in supply chain planning, S&OP, inventory optimisation, warehousing or logistics.
  • Experience with digital tools such as Power BI, Visio, Python, R, SQL, Foundry style architectures.
  • Experience with P3M audits, maturity assessments and improvement plans.
  • APICS / CPIM / CILT / Lean Six Sigma certifications.
  • High emotional intelligence and a strong client‑facing presence.
  • Ability to work with senior executives confidently and credibly.
