About Squarcle / The Team

Squarcle is a growing strategy, operations and digital consultancy dedicated to driving the performance of our clients. We are people-oriented and pride ourselves on our people-first culture. Unlike many consultancies, Squarcle is equally dedicated to delivery as it is to design.

The Enterprise Digitisation & Change capability supports the delivery of Squarcle consultancy tasks through managing transformation and ensuring robust programme management. The team is made up of subject matter experts, including P3M and Business Analyst specialists, who work within client-facing tasks to deliver against a specified mandate.

Squarcle is committed to equality and diversity, and we aim to build a diverse, dedicated, and high-performing team of subject matter experts to help our clients achieve resilient supply chains, asset management, and operational excellence.

Job Overview / Introduction

Delivering programmes of national importance demands expertise in understanding how organisations align people, processes, and technology to deliver the specified outcomes. As an Op Model Senior Consultant within the Enterprise Digitisation and Change capability, you will bring demonstrable experience in designing and implementing Target Operating Models (TOM). You will be asked to design and implement a TOM for our client, enabling them to deliver one of the UK’s most ambitious transformation programmes with clarity, confidence, and control.

At Squarcle, we work in a matrix structure designed to support your growth and success. You’ll have a Performance Manager to guide your career development, and an Engagement Manager to support your day-to-day project work. This role sits within our Enterprise Design and Change Capability, where you’ll work closely with our Enterprise, Design, and Change MD and be asked to contribute to the development of the capability. As a Senior Consultant, within our Enterprise, Design, and Change capability, you’ll be joining us as we build momentum. This means there’s room for people to shape how we grow, not just keep up with it.

Senior Consultant Subject Areas

  • Strategy – Guidance in corporate strategy, business transformation, digital and innovation capabilities.
  • Operations – Guidance on business process optimisations to improve operational capabilities and support ongoing delivery.
  • Information Technology – Supply and implementation of technological solutions for the client.
  • Human Capital – Solutions for change management and organisational change affecting employees.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and evolution of Target Operating Models for large, complex programmes – translating strategy into clear, actionable structures and ways of working.
  • Work with senior stakeholders to define how teams, systems, and governance align to deliver programme outcomes effectively.
  • Support the TOM Lead to develop and refine our in-house TOM frameworks, tools, and methods – helping set the standard for how we deliver enterprise design.
  • Coach and upskill colleagues in TOM design and deployment, building capability across our wider consulting teams.
  • Bring fresh thinking and lessons learned from live programmes to improve how we deliver transformation across the business.
  • Drive clarity and alignment in a complex programme with multiple stakeholders, each with different priorities and perspectives.
  • Translate strategic objectives into practical operating models that work in practice across large-scale, high-stakes programmes.
  • Work on operating models that are central to our client offerings – influencing multiple opportunities over time.
  • Deliver an operating model for a high-profile, complex programme that has real national strategic impact.

Client Engagement and Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior clients, acting as a trusted advisor and securing buy-in for the case for change and the delivery approach, particularly within supply chain and operational transformation programmes.
  • Understand client business objectives, challenges, and industry trends, including supply chain dynamics, logistics constraints, procurement practices, and end-to-end operational flows.
  • Ensure high client satisfaction through effective communication and timely delivery of project milestones and deliverables, with consideration for supply chain impacts and dependencies.

Team Leadership and Mentorship

  • Provide guidance for more junior consultants, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Mentor and develop consultants, assisting in their professional growth.
  • Foster knowledge sharing and best practices within the consulting team, particularly in areas related to operations and supply chain management.

Secondary Roles and Responsibilities

  • Production of internal reporting.
  • Develop and refine Squarcle methods.
  • Support wider team activities such as knowledge sessions and recruitment.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree (2:1) or higher in a related subject or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working as a Business Analyst.
  • Well-developed core consulting skills – research, analysis, presentation and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and client/customer service.
  • Aptitude to grasp new concepts and produce effective outputs.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a growth mindset – analytical, innovative, and creative approach.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • A strong work ethic with the ability to be self-directed and an independent contributor to the team.
  • Ability to structure and manage intensive workloads.
  • Ability to lead teams.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • A worthy team player dedicated to contributing toward the desired outcome of the team and the business.
  • Prepared to apply for and pass security clearance before appointment.

Desirable

  • Business Analyst Qualification from BCS or The Chartered Institute for IT (Foundation or Practitioner level).
  • Experience in the Defence sector.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI and Visio.
  • High degree of emotional intelligence to effectively deal with diverse clients and teams.
  • Confidence and maturity to work with senior executives.

What We Offer

  • Generous leave package: 26 days of annual leave (including your birthday) plus UK bank holidays – increasing to 27 days after three years, and 28 after seven years.
  • Additional leave for five-year and ten-year anniversaries.
  • Additional leave for members of the Reserve Forces and CFAV.
  • Private medical insurance – provided once probation is completed.

  • Development & learning: Annual training week abroad. Funding for qualifications that benefit both you and the business.
