Join our growing workshop team at Stanmore Quality Services Ltd (SQS). Due to an increase in our fleet size, we are looking to recruit an experienced HGV Technician. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a well‑maintained fleet in a busy but supportive environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance and repair of HGVs to DVSA standards, ensuring maximum vehicle uptime and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs).
  • Prepare vehicles for MOTs and present them for inspection when required.
  • Perform emergency repairs and rectify defects identified on the Daily Check Sheets to all vehicles to remain roadworthy at all times.
  • Undertake planned maintenance, diagnostics, and servicing to all vehicles, in accordance with manufacturer and company schedules.
  • Complete all required work documentation, including statutory and regulatory records, accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all company tools, equipment, and workshop facilities are maintained in safe and effective working order, arranging repair or replacement where necessary.
  • Provide support for breakdown and roadside assistance when required (if applicable).
  • Carry out maintenance and repairs on company owned plant and equipment.
  • Undertake minor repairs to hired vehicles, small plant and equipment as required.
  • Carry out all other reasonable duties and requests on behalf of the Company when required.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to all health and safety requirements.
