The Job
Role: Strategic Business Development Representative – Commerce
Permanent contract – London (Hybrid: two days in the office or with clients/prospects as required)
We’re looking for a Senior Business Development Representative to play a key role in our growth strategy. This is a senior-level prospecting position focused on quality over quantity – identifying the right accounts, crafting tailored outreach, and starting meaningful conversations with senior decision-makers across various industries on digital transformation, CX, and platform strategy. You’ll be part of a small, agile team where your impact is visible and your career path can evolve into closing sales, client management, or project leadership as we scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and build strategic target account lists across key eCommerce and retail sectors
- Develop and execute personalised, multi-touch outreach strategies across phone, email, LinkedIn, and industry events
- Qualify and nurture leads to create a steady flow of high-value opportunities for the sales team
- Collaborate closely with marketing and delivery teams to align messaging and campaigns
- Maintain accurate pipeline data and report progress in CRM (Dynamics and Hubspot)
- Follow up on event, webinar, and warm leads to drive engagement
- Deliver strong account based marketing campaigns to generate and qualify high quality leads
- Actively network in person with partners and industry contacts, representing SQLI as a credible brand ambassador
- Stay ahead of market trends and competitive movements to inform targeting strategies
Your profile
What you bring
- 3+ years of new business experience in a digital agency, eCommerce, or SaaS environment
- Proven ability to research, qualify, and engage senior-level prospects
- Skilled in CRM management and Linkedin Sales Navigator (HubSpot/Dynamics experience ideal)
- Strong understanding of the digital commerce and CX landscapes (Adobe, Shopify experience a plus)
- You’re an outgoing people connector, energised by building meaningful relationships
- Experience executing account based marketing campaigns
