A very exciting opportunity to work as the Head Chef in a well-established and acclaimed bar and restaurant in Braunton in a family run business with extensive experience in the Hospitality industry. The food is contemporary European and emphasis is placed on using fresh local produce where possible. An a la carte menu is run alongside a monthly special menu. The restaurant is open all day starting with breakfasts and food can be ordered all day with daily covers upwards of 200 during peak times.
You will have the opportunity of working in a state of the art kitchen with all the best equipment at your disposal. You will be responsible for the day to day running of the kitchen and a team of 10-14. Your duties and responsibilities will include, although not limited to:
- Training and supervision of junior members of staff
- Preparation of food
- Stock rotation
- Menu changes
- Food ordering together with running busy services
It is a busy kitchen and you must ensure that all equipment is maintained, working correctly and is cleaned to a high standard. Detailed knowledge of Health and Safety and Food Hygiene is a must. A certificate in Level 3 Food Safety would be an advantage.
You will work well with others, but be able to lead a team, be passionate about food, have an eye for detail, work well under pressure and be enthusiastic about working in an established busy restaurant. The position will be full-time and you will need to be able to work in the evenings/weekends/bank holidays. Competitive salary and incentives for the right candidate.
