Role overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join us working with our media client to help build product features and contribute to general availability/scalability improvements for their premium streaming services backend API and Cloud infrastructure.
The successful applicant will have strong AWS expertise around networking, Lambda, EC2, Redis and Cloud Formation and will be proficient in TypeScript, JavaScript and NodeJS. They will also have experience with CI/CD pipelines and have experience of designing, building and supporting robust, large-scale cloud-based systems with rapid release cycles.
Additionally, they will be a great communicator who enjoys collaborating with other teams and a team player who encourages collaboration and contribution. The team follow a Scrum development methodology and enjoy a hybrid working model of up to twice a week in the office with Tuesday as a day for the team to collaborate.
Essential Key Skills and Knowledge
You will:
- have strong with AWS networking, EC2, Lambda, Redis and Cloud Formation
- be proficient in TypeScript and JavaScript
- have strong experience with NodeJS
- have experience with CI/CD pipelines
- have knowledge of microservices architecture (desired)
- have knowledge of event driven architecture (desired)
- have a strong willingness to learn and be a keen team player
- have professional experience of working in projects using Agile development processes
- have experience of writing and taking responsibility for technical documentation
Experience
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or similar work-based experience
- Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer ideally with a focus on media-related projects
- Very good working knowledge of standard software development frameworks, techniques and methodologies
- Experience with providing coaching and mentoring
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team, contributing to the development of business scenarios
- Knowledge of software development tools and technologies
- You are flexible and curious in your approach
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Additional information
Duration of the contract:initially 6 months with the possibility of extension contract FTC(full-time)
