Role Overview
This role will be to work on and deploy the upgrade of a cloud infrastructure of a radiology database system onto an existing cloud infrastructure. Working as part of a dedicated project team, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the setup and administration of the complex database system, ensuring normalisation and following best practices. The position will involve hands on technical work, troubleshooting, and ensuring the stability and performance of the database.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, with proven expertise in PostgresSQL with strong SQL skills and understanding of relational database design. Experience with performance tuning, indexing and query optomisation is essential as is experience with cloud based database solutions (AWS or Azure). For deployments some CI/CD knowledge will be necessary. They will be adept at investigating and resolving complex technical issues, while consistently delivering high quality project outcomes.
Desirable skills include experience working in the healthcare industry with knowledge of healthcare data standards. The role will require building effective working relationships with internal teams, customers, and stakeholders. Strong problem-solving skills and collaboration skills along with a proactive approach will help drive successful outcomes.
Essential Key Skills and Responsibilities
You will have:
- Proven experience in PostgreSQL database development and administration
- Strong SQL skills and understanding of relational database design
- Experience with performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization
- Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g. AWS or Azure)
- Knowledge of a CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of version control (Github).
Desirable Skills/Knowledge/Experience
- Familiarity with healthcare data standards (e.g. HL7, FHIR) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or similar work based experience.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team, contributing to the development of business scenarios.
- Knowledge of software development tools and technologies.

Additional information
Duration of the contract: initially 6 months with the possibility of extension – contract FTC (full-time)
