The Opportunity

Radiodetection is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and scale our Precision Locator & CAT engineering team during an exciting phase of growth. This is a key leadership role within a fast-moving SME environment, offering the chance to shape engineering processes, develop high-performing teams, and help drive ambitious plans to double revenue over the next three years. We are looking for a hands-on leader who understands what “good” looks like, leads by example, and combines strategic thinking with a willingness to get into the detail. You will bring a grounded, fact-based approach, strong systems knowledge, and the confidence to challenge constructively when needed. Experience across hardware, Mechanical and System development is a must.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end product development across Precision Locator & CAT product lines
  • Drive process improvement and scalable engineering practices
  • Build and develop high-performing multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Support growth by improving delivery capability, quality, and efficiency
  • Work closely with Product, Project Management, Manufacturing, and senior leadership
  • Provide strong systems-level thinking across hardware, firmware, and manufacturing environments
  • Lead NPI product industrialisation and Change Request Management
  • Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence via continuous improvement
  • Balance strategic leadership with hands-on technical involvement where required

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience leading engineering teams within product development environments
  • Strong systems engineering background within electronic-based products
  • Experience developing products from concept through to manufacture
  • Strong experience in hardware, mechanical development and product industrialisation
  • Strong process improvement and organisational scaling experience
  • Confident communicator who can listen, challenge, and influence effectively
  • Growth mindset with the ability to lead through change
  • Comfortable operating within an SME-style environment
