Product Manager – Enterprise Control Systems (ECS)

SPX Enterprise Control Systems is embarking on an exciting evolution—and we’re looking for a Product Manager who can help reshape the future of our airborne communications portfolio.

This role is far more than maintaining a product line. You’ll be driving a shift in culture, ways of working, and long-term strategy. If you enjoy leading by example, influencing decisions at a business level, and taking full ownership of a product range, you’ll fit right in.

Why this role matters

We are moving beyond traditional datalinks and expanding further into airborne capability. You’ll shape how we transform from project-driven delivery to more predictable, recurring revenue models—covering both hardware and software. As customer needs evolve, you’ll help us offer flexible options, whether that’s equipment rental or product purchase.

This role is central to how ECS strengthens its position in secure airborne ISR, defence, and law-enforcement markets across Europe and further afield.

What you’ll be doing

• Taking full ownership of the product range, including lifecycle management and end-of-life strategy.
• Leading the strategic move into advanced airborne solutions.
• Acting as the bridge between technical teams and senior business discussions, contributing ideas, direction, and commercially focused insight.
• Analysing data, customer trends, and competitive intelligence to guide roadmap decisions.
• Bringing fresh thinking—AI, machine learning, and cross-product integration will be areas where your ideas matter.
• Supporting and influencing a team that includes Business Development Managers and other key stakeholders as necessary.
• Building strong customer relationships (especially across France, Italy, Germany), and wider EMEA and APAC territories (experience in the US market is also a bonus).
• Helping shape a modernised, collaborative culture under our new General Manager.

What we’re looking for

• A technically minded Product Manager with experience in communications, defence, aerospace, or related technology fields.
• Someone comfortable talking at both engineering depth and business-level strategy.
• Strong communication skills—you’ll be interacting with customers, internal teams, and senior leadership.
• Analytical, data-driven decision-making with the confidence to propose and defend your ideas.
• A naturally self-motivated person who thrives in an environment where you’re expected to set the pace.
• Any experience with team leadership or informal coaching is a plus, as this role may open further opportunities in future.
• Ability to travel across Europe (~25%), mainly France, Italy, and Germany.
