The Mental Health Officer will play a key role in delivering Spurs In The Community's Together Against Suicide (TAS) programme, providing a visible, accessible and compassionate mental health support service to supporters before, during and after home matchdays.

Working as part of the Health & Wellbeing and club Safeguarding teams, the postholder will provide immediate emotional support and crisis intervention to individuals experiencing poor mental health, emotional distress or suicidal thoughts.

The role will undertake appropriate risk assessments, contribute to safeguarding decision-making, and ensure individuals are safely supported through effective signposting and referrals into specialist mental health and community services.

The postholder will work collaboratively with the Spurs in the Community's Safeguarding Team, Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, Samaritans and other key partners to deliver a coordinated, trauma-informed approach that prioritises the safety and wellbeing of supporters.

They will also contribute to developing robust referral pathways, maintaining accurate case records, monitoring outcomes and supporting the continuous improvement of the service.

In addition to direct supporter support, the role will help build organisational confidence and capability by providing guidance, training and advice to Foundation and Club staff, increasing awareness of mental health, suicide prevention and safeguarding responsibilities.

Through education, engagement and partnership working, the role will contribute to reducing the stigma surrounding suicide, encouraging earlier help‑seeking behaviours, and embedding positive mental health support within the matchday environment and wider community.

This role will be instrumental in ensuring the Together Against Suicide programme delivers a high-quality, person‑centred service that improves supporter wellbeing, strengthens safeguarding practices and reinforces Spurs In The Community's commitment to creating a safer, more supportive and inclusive matchday experience for everyone.
