Please note, there are 3 vacancies available for this post: 2x full time (37 hours) & 1x part time (22.5 hours). This is a fixed-term vacancy until 28th February 2027.

Support pregnant women when it matters most. Join our Erdington team and walk alongside vulnerable women through pregnancy and early motherhood. You’ll offer practical and emotional support to reduce health risks and improve outcomes for mums and babies.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Support women with smoking cessation, antenatal care, and healthy lifestyle changes.
  • Deliver group sessions on pregnancy and infant care.
  • Help women engage with maternity services early.
  • Work collaboratively with midwives, GPs, and Family Hubs.
  • Build trust with women from diverse communities.

What Your Week Will Look Like:

  • Support & Engagement: Conduct home visits, accompany women to antenatal and diabetes-related appointments, provide translation assistance, and offer reminders via text or calls.
  • Health Promotion Activities: Signpost to and support group sessions on healthy pregnancy topics such as physical activity, nutrition, smoking cessation, and managing gestational diabetes.
  • Community Outreach: Build relationships with local communities, attend drop-ins or outreach events (e.g. at refugee centres), and promote access to services like Healthy Start.
  • Multi-agency Coordination: Collaborate with GPs, midwives, and public health teams through meetings and referrals to ensure integrated, holistic care.
  • Monitoring & Administration: Track outcomes (e.g. appointment attendance, CO readings) and complete reports and case notes for ongoing evaluation.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience) in health, early years, or public health.
  • Experience working with vulnerable families or in public health.
  • Warm, trauma-informed communication style.
  • Strong organisation and safeguarding awareness.
