ABOUT THE ROLE
- Provide online one-to-one counselling for children and young people, offering safe, supportive and professional sessions.
- Act on safeguarding concerns appropriately and liaise with safeguarding leads, parents, and professionals where required.
- Work independently while keeping accurate records, managing referrals, evaluations, and consent forms.
- Collaborate with schools, social care teams, and health providers to support the wellbeing of children and families.
- Maintain professional standards through supervision, training, and CPD, staying up to date with legislation and best practice.
- Represent Spurgeons positively, reflecting our ethos and commitment to transforming the lives of children and young people.
ABOUT YOU
- Qualified to Level 5 Diploma (minimum Level 4) in Counselling Children and Young People.
- Registered member of a recognised professional counselling body (e.g. BACP, UKCP, NCPS, PTUK).
- At least 100 counselling hours with children and 100 hours with adults, ideally including school-based experience.
- Confident working independently with strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
- Excellent understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and the challenges faced by children and young people.
- You’re someone who wants to grow, you’re keen to learn, open to feedback, and looking for a role where you can develop your skills and make a long-term impact.
