At SPS, our Operations Schedulers don’t just plan services, they keep an entire workforce and fleet running like clockwork. Using smart tools like Optibus and Trapeze, you’ll design driver duties, build rosters and make sure our services meet the needs of our clients and our people.
You’ll be right at the heart of our operation, working with colleagues across Operations, Engineering and Client Services to deliver world‑class scheduling.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Creating driver duties and rosters using Optibus and actively managing allocations
- Incorporating and driving utilisation and management of all changes through our driver allocation system, Trapeze
- Managing monthly timetable changes and implementing client requests in a timely manner
- Attending client meetings and timetable reviews as an SPS representative
- Using data and feedback to continuously improve driver duties and allocations
- Producing accurate operational reports and KPI insights
- Collaborating with First Bus and Optibus to support innovation and updates
- Becoming a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in telematic and company systems including DAS, Vtech, uTrack and MoovManage, helping develop system knowledge across the team through training and workshops
- Supporting operational tools that manage fleet movements in real time
- Proactively identifying and resolving daily operational challenges alongside Operations and Engineering
Qualifications & Skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Strong Health and Safety knowledge
- Understand Legal Driving Hours
- Strong IT skills and confidence with MS Office
- Flexible and adaptable in a 24/7 operation
- Proactive problem‑solver with a positive attitude
- Thrive in a fast‑paced, detail‑focused environment
- PCV Licence / CPC (training can be provided)
- Project Management
