As a multi-skilled fire and security systems engineer, you will be attending any number of our sites across greater London, Kent, and Essex to provide high-quality work, ranging from routine maintenance to emergency callouts.

SPS Fire and Security Limited specialises in the installation and maintenance of specialised security equipment, including Fire Alarms, CCTV, Access Control, Intercoms, PAVA systems, VESDA systems, Intruder Alarms, Nurse Call Systems, Disabled Refuge Systems, Disabled Toilet Alarms, Barriers and Fire extinguishers. We are an ever-growing, all-inclusive team based in the south-west, with most of our sites situated in-and‑around the Greater London area, including Kent and Essex also. We are always looking for professional, experienced fire and security personnel.
Who We’re Looking For (requirements)
- Proven experience as a certified fire and security engineer, with strong mechanical knowledge of the installation, diagnostics, and repairing of fire and security systems (essential).
- Full UK drivers’ license (essential).
- Familiarity with current industry practices, and technology (GENT, MORLEY, KENTEC, ETC.).
- Previous experience with field-to-office communication and collaboration.
- Capability to complete essential documents, such as job completion sheets, completely and without consistent errors.
- Experience with field service management systems such as JobLogic, or Simpro (preferred, but not essential).
- Clear Enhanced DBS certification (all checks are provided as part of our onboarding process).
Core Responsibilities Include
- Conduct system analysis and testing to verify functionality and safety performance.
- Collaborate with construction teams to oversee installation of fire protection systems on-site, ensuring adherence to design specifications.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and electrical experience to assist in the assembly and maintenance of fire safety and security equipment.
- Perform site inspections to assess existing systems and recommend improvements or modifications.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of system designs, modifications, and testing procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Schedule
Call‑Out Rota: Agreement to attend emergency call‑out works on a weekly‑rotating schedule.
