Job Description
Purpose: To produce basic sheet metal details either by hand or using machines, to have the ability to follow simple diagrams and written instructions. To undertake basic assembly work. To have skills to use sheet metal working equipment, i.e. guillotine, fly press, rollers, shrinkers/stretchers, rubber presses and drills. To have an understanding of basic welding principles. To have the skills to self inspect any operation carried out.
Responsibilities:
- To ensure work is carried out in accordance with work card instructions and associated drawings and specifications.
- To read and understand the requirements of the SPS Aerostructures Employee handbook.
- To comply with SPS Quality work instruction 9 Part 11- Employee’s General Quality Requirements.
- Work in a safe manner in order to satisfy Health and Safety legislation and to avoid accident or injury to people, machinery or property.
- Carrying out such other duties as may reasonably be required within the jobholder’s capabilities consistent with the Terms and Conditions of employment.
Qualifications: NVQ & City & Guilds Levels 1, 2 & 3 Fabrication & Welding or equivalent i.e. engineering production (Fabrication) Q1027431 EDEXCEL level 3 B-Tec Competences) Welding & Fabrication. The ability to carry out all the above activities at the highest level.
