The Position: Sproule ERCE is seeking an on-site IT Support Technician to join our team in Croydon, reporting to the IT Support Manager, supporting users across the global organisation. The position is initially offered on a 3 month fixed term basis, working 5 days a week in the Croydon office. This role will play a key part in an upcoming office relocation, which will include assisting with asset disposal and hardware auditing, the preparation of workstations for moving, and reconfiguration of user setups and meeting spaces in the new location. Please note this will involve physical tasks and some out of hours work. Availability for the weekend of 28th Feb, and the preceding and following weeks is essential (at overtime rates). The company will undertake Manual Handling training and appropriate risk assessments.
The IT Support Technician will play a key role in triaging and resolving end user support requirements whilst working with senior IT team members to resolve when necessary. As a member of our small but dynamic service desk team, you will learn to monitor the helpdesk, develop efficient processes, and ensure high-quality support delivery. Your technical expertise will be used daily, working with our Microsoft 365 environment, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows based systems and applications, and leveraging cloud services like Inturn to deploy configuration and applications.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and process the IT support queue, ensuring timely resolution of issues and maintaining high customer satisfaction.
- Provide direct end-user support for Microsoft 365, Windows-based systems, and other enterprise applications.
- Deploy end user computing equipment such as laptops, workstations, and accessories.
- Assist with migration of users to new equipment and provide support.
- Support and troubleshoot oil and gas industry-specific software applications.
- Support and troubleshoot audio visual equipment, printers and other office equipment.
- Develop and implement efficient IT Helpdesk processes and procedures to improve service delivery.
- Assist with Microsoft Intune, including creating device configuration profiles and application deployment packages.
- Collaborate with the infrastructure team on projects related to on-premises and cloud services.
- Assist in building knowledge bases and frequently asked questions resources to aid in problem resolution.
- Form part of the paid on-call rotation for emergencies.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting would be advantageous.
- Experience with PSADT (PowerShell App Deployment Toolkit) would be a benefit.
- Experience of Linux server operation would be desirable.
Non-technical Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Other languages (Dutch) will be considered an asset.
