HGV TECHNICIAN Location of HGV Technician / Fleet Mechanic / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter / Plant Fitter / Plant Mechanic / Diesel Mechanic / LGV Technician / Heavy Duty Technician / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic: Basildon / Essex area Salary for the HGV Technician / Fleet Mechanic / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter / Plant Fitter / Plant Mechanic / Diesel Mechanic / LGV Technician / Heavy Duty Technician / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic: £58,500.00 pa plus overtime available Hours of work: 45 hours a week, Monday to Friday - start 7:00am - 17:00pm Job Summary for the HGV Technician / Fleet Mechanic / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter / Plant Fitter / Plant Mechanic / Diesel Mechanic / LGV Technician / Heavy Duty Technician / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic: My client is seeking a skilled and dependable HGV Technician to join their expanding operation. They are looking for someone who has experience in working in a fast dynamic environment and has experience of working on HGV chassis. Unless the individual already has experience of working on refuse collection vehicles (such as Dennis Eagle bodies and Terberg bin lifts) then they will need to be keen to learn how the body and bin lift operates in order to undertake inspections and repairs. Key Responsibilities of the HGV Technician / Fleet Mechanic / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter / Plant Fitter / Plant Mechanic / Diesel Mechanic / LGV Technician / Heavy Duty Technician / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic:  Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles, including refuse collection vehicles  Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults using diagnostic equipment and schematics  Undertake repairs on commercial vehicles and associated hydraulic systems  Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety regulations and industry standards  Work across a broad range of fleet assets in a fast-paced environment  Carry out fabrication, welding, and minor electrical repairs as required  Accurately complete job cards, service records, and compliance documentation  Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the workshop Skills and Experience Required for the HGV Technician / Fleet Mechanic / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter / Plant Fitter / Plant Mechanic / Diesel Mechanic / LGV Technician / Heavy Duty Technician / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic:  Proven experience as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Engineer / Plant Fitter  Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge of heavy commercial vehicles  Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Service & Maintenance qualification desirable (NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent)  Confident working with hydraulic systems, and compaction equipment  Ability to work independently and as part of a team  Physically capable of carrying out manual and demanding work  Strong attention to detail and fault-finding ability  Sound understanding of health and safety requirements If this job sounds like a great role for you then please send your CV to Danica Baker at Sprint Recruitment
