My client is looking for an HGV Technician Mechanic and Light Vehicle Technicians to join their supportive team in Manchester and work on HGVs, Vans and Vehicles.
The Role:
- Looking for a skilled HGV Mechanic / Technician and Light Vehicle Technicians to join their growing workshop team.
- This is a hands-on role suited to a practical, safety-focused technician who takes pride in high-quality work and keeping vehicles operating at their best.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Servicing, maintaining, and repairing HGVs, LCVs, Vans, Light Vehicles and trailers
- Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults
- Preparing vehicles for MOTs and supporting DVSA inspections
- Completing safety checks, inspections, and defect reports
- Using diagnostic equipment and manufacturer systems
- Carrying out breakdown repairs where required
- Keeping accurate maintenance and compliance records
- Working closely with drivers and transport teams to minimise downtime
Requirements:
- Level 3 NVQ / City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent) or in Light Vehicle Repairs
- Proven experience working on HGVs or LGVs or Light Vehicles
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Commitment to health, safety, and compliance
- HGV Class C or C+E licence (Desirable)
- IRTEC accreditation (desirable)
- Experience with DAF, Volvo, Scania, Mercedes, or similar (desirable)
- Previous MOT preparation experience (desirable)
