Location: Near Heathrow, Middlesex
Salary: Up to £43,000 basic salary plus BONUS (OTE of £49,000.00) Plus Overtime (approx £1600.00) = Total of almost £52,000.00
Hours of work: Monday to Friday days 40 hours a week, and 1 in 4 Saturdays mornings 7am - 12:00 paid at Overtime of 1.5 rate.

My client, a commercial vehicle company, are looking for an organised and process-driven Workshop Controller to run an extremely busy workshop. You must be able to think on your feet reacting quickly to any technical challenge that should arise. Supporting the Service Manager, knowledge in Health & Safety systems, processes and practices are a must for this role. The Workshop Controller must possess excellent communication skills - both to the technicians and providing relevant and clear information to the Service Team to pass back to Customers.

Responsibilities:
- Correctly and accurately interpret instructions from the job cards/repair orders, to follow all documented Quality Procedures and to ensure that Service Technicians comply with repair instructions and stipulated settings and tolerances from manufacturers' manuals, bulletins, check sheets, etc.
- Manage all areas of Workshop H&S
- Providing additional back up for 24hr Breakdown/Recovery as/when required.
- Effectively manage all areas of yard to ensure staff and customers are kept safe reporting any defects in a timely manner.
- Catalogue, protect and maintain all tools and equipment and to implement the calibration programme and record it effectively, in compliance with documented procedures.
- Ensure that all displaced parts are immediately clearly identified and/or placed in quarantine areas, as required by documented procedures.
- Provide estimates for jobs as required.
- Assisting in the selection and recruitment process for Technicians/Drivers. CV review through to Interview and Induction.
- Identifying technician/workshop training needs and organising training required both technical and non-technical ensuring that appropriate workshop cover remains.
- Authorisation of technician annual leave ensuring that the workshop has appropriate cover.
- Ensure the quality of work is to the highest possible standard of workmanship and efficiency as per industry guidelines reporting any likely delays to the Service Advisors/Service Manager as appropriate.
- Ensure that company vehicles are subjected to regular checking courtesy vehicles/breakdown vehicles and are kept in a roadworthy condition.
- Carry out quality checks on work completed and provide accurate reporting on repeat repairs for review.
- Ensure that work done and tests carried out are accurately reported/recorded and to immediately report any further work required or vehicle faults, as laid down in documented procedures.
- Ensure that Customers' and the Company's property are protected.
- Ensure that the Workshop is kept in a clean and tidy condition and all scrap, etc. is removed immediately upon the completion of each repair complying with process.
- Achieve all company & personal goals and targets.
- Undertake such other tasks as may reasonably be required. These may include liaising with customers, working outside normal hours and covering duties within the service administration department, this list is not exhaustive.
