Salary: £17.00ph - £22.00ph depending on experience plus overtime (basic salary of £40,000 - £51,000 plus overtime)
Location: West Midlands / Midlands and all surrounding locations
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 45 hours a week
My client, a busy and ever growing Plant / Heavy Vehicle repair Company, are looking for an experienced Plant Fitter or HGV Technician to work mobile from the Midlands and West Midlands.
Key responsibilities:
- Test vehicles and plant machinery and diagnose faults
- Recognise and report vehicle/component defects or symptoms of impending failure
- Service, adjust and repair vehicles/components
- Electrical fault finding
- Hydraulic repairs
- Complete job records
Essential Qualities:
- Previous experience in mechanics (preferably heavy vehicle, Construction vehicles, plant, waste and recycling vehicles and agriculture)
- Clear understanding of mechanical / hydraulic / electrical systems
- Technical ability - strong electrical fault finding abilities
- Qualification in plant, HGV, mechanical engineering is desirable
- Full UK Driving licence
- Computer literate - confident in using software to integrate with machines
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Team player, honest, reliable, trustworthy and a good time keeper
- Ability to use own initiative
- Literacy and numeracy skills
- Attention to detail
- Problem solving skills - logical approach to diagnostic tasks
- Welding and Fabricating are desirable
- Effective Communicator
