We are seeking to appoint a Level 2 Teaching Assistant on a permanent contract to join our team based at our Swinton site.

Are you interested in supporting primary age children with complex needs to achieve their potential? Will you ensure that all our pupils are included and supported to develop whatever their special educational needs or behaviour challenges? Can you work as part of a team to provide an appropriate learning environment for our pupils? Do you want to learn new skills and participate in your own professional development?

Previous experience of working with young people of school age who may present with challenging behaviour and complex needs, preferably within an educational setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Support primary age children with complex needs to achieve their potential.
  • Work as part of a team to provide an inclusive learning environment and support for pupils with special educational needs or behaviour challenges.
  • Develop and lead groups of pupils in specified areas of specialist communication.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of learning activities and classroom routines.
  • Be ready to develop skills and expertise to lead groups of pupils and to participate in professional development.

About Springwood: Springwood is a large primary age Special School (375 pupils aged 5–11) based over a number of sites, which caters for pupils with moderate, severe and complex needs. Springwood is part of the LINK Education Trust.
