Purpose of the Job
This is an administrative role primarily providing support to the Attendance Officer and the Administration department.
Responsibilities
- Provide an administrative role with professionalism and accuracy.
- Demonstrate excellent organisational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel as required.
- Input, retrieve and analyse information using the SIMS system.
- Organise and maintain an orderly filing system.
- Make and receive telephone calls to/from parents and professional agencies as required.
- Liaise professionally and effectively with parents, staff and external agencies via telephone, email and letter.
- Provide administrative support for the Attendance Officer.
- Deputise for the Attendance Officer, managing attendance line telephone calls and messages.
- Support the Attendance Officer in completing home visits to children who are struggling to attend school.
- Meet with children and/or parents in school regarding attendance.
- Accurately record student attendance and report any issues to the relevant members of staff.
- Complete ad hoc administration tasks as directed.
- Support various departments with all aspects of administration commensurate with the grading of this post on an ad hoc basis.
- Ensure that confidentiality is observed at all times and abide by the Data Protection Act.
- Ensure the safe disposal of confidential waste.
- Prioritise workload to meet specific deadlines.
- Carry out duties in line with the School’s policy on Equality and be sensitive and caring to the needs of others, promoting a positive approach to a harmonious working environment.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young and vulnerable people.
- Accurately record information.
- Carry out all ad‑hoc duties as reasonably requested by the Head Teacher from time to time.
