Every employee in our school is instrumental in our pupils’ progress and we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant (Grade 4) to support our educational team in fostering a positive learning environment for children. This role is essential in helping to create an inclusive atmosphere where all students can thrive and reach their full potential.

As a Grade 4 Teaching Assistant at our school in Barnsley, you will offer more than classroom support. You will make connections, develop relationships and lead our pupils on the path to a bright future. This will include working under the guidance of a teacher to support the academic and personal development of children throughout the school day.

What you will do:

  • Preparing the classroom ready for lessons
  • Observe and document student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team on their development
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop individual education plans for students requiring additional support
  • Help manage classroom behaviour by implementing strategies that promote positive interactions among students
  • Completing records/ pupils plans
  • Leading small and whole class group work

What you will bring:

  • Experience in a school or similar setting
  • Experience working with children/ young people with SEN / SEMH needs
  • Good standard of education with GCSE Maths and English
  • NVQ L3 qualification, working towards or willing to complete
  • Ideally a car driver
