About the School

We are a 1.5 form (reducing to 1-form) entry primary school in Panshanger, Welwyn Garden City with a current pupil roll of 240 pupils. Our ethos is based around relational practice, and we believe that all pupils should be treated with unconditional positive regard and that positive relationships are the foundation of a thriving learning community. By adopting a relational approach, the school supports not only academic attainment and attendance but also the emotional wellbeing, resilience, and inclusion of students, staff, and parents alike. In practice, we do not follow a "one size fits all" in relation to punitive measures but we utilise flexible consistency. Expectations of behaviour are high, and we tailor these and implement safe boundaries to individual needs and capacities and take the approach of equity not equality in all aspects of learning. Position Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Teaching Assistant. This is a fixed‑term position from 1st September 2026 until 22nd July 2027, working 18.5 hours over a 5‑day week.

Safeguarding and Qualifications

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children and staff and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; all applicants must declare even "spent" convictions and cautions as this role could involve working with a vulnerable group. Successful applicants will be subject to an Enhanced DBS Check. Please note that we are required to carry out social media checks on all candidates who are invited for interview.
