A platform to lead. A practice to shape. We are a leading tax advisory firm with a market‑leading Real Estate and Funds practice, and we are looking for an exceptional Tax Partner to join us in London. This is a genuine opportunity to take a leadership role in one of the most active and commercially vibrant areas of tax advisory — advising institutional investors, asset managers, fund sponsors, and real estate businesses on their most significant and complex transactions.

The opportunity

This is not a seat‑filling hire. We are looking for a Partner with vision — someone who will help define and grow our Real Estate and Funds tax offering, deepen existing client relationships, and bring their own following to a firm with the platform, pipeline, and people to support real ambition. You will sit at the intersection of two of the firm’s most strategically important practice areas, working alongside Real Estate, Corporate, and Finance colleagues on complex, high‑value mandates for an enviable client base spanning the full spectrum of institutional and private capital.

What you’ll be doing

  • Leading tax advice on real estate transactions — acquisitions, disposals, developments, and joint ventures — across UK and cross‑border structures
  • Advising on the structuring and establishment of real estate funds, including REITs, PAIFs, co‑investment vehicles, and Luxembourg and offshore fund structures
  • Advising asset managers, GPs, and LPs on carried interest, management fee structuring, and fund economics
  • Acting as lead tax adviser to institutional investors, sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, and family offices investing into real estate and alternative assets
  • Working closely with the Tax Disputes team where fund or real estate structures attract HMRC scrutiny
  • Driving business development — originating mandates, building profile, and expanding the firm’s reach in the real estate and funds tax market
  • Mentoring and developing the next generation of tax advisers within the team

The ideal candidate

  • A highly regarded Tax Partner or senior Director ready to step up, with a strong focus on real estate tax, fund structuring, or both
  • Deep expertise in UK real estate tax — SDLT, ATED, VAT on property, and the taxation of real estate vehicles — combined with a strong understanding of fund structures and investor tax considerations
  • Experience advising across the capital stack — equity, debt, and hybrid structures
  • A demonstrable client following and the commercial instinct to grow it further
  • The ability to operate with authority at Board and C‑suite level, and the gravitas to lead a team
  • CTA and/or Solicitor

Why here?

Real estate and funds are core to our strategy — not an afterthought. You will inherit a strong existing practice, benefit from deep integration with one of London’s premier real estate advisory teams and have genuine influence over how the tax practice evolves. We offer a collegiate partnership culture, a competitive equity structure, and the infrastructure to support a Partner with serious ambitions. If you are building something and want a better platform to do it from — or if you are ready to step into Partnership for the first time — we would welcome a confidential conversation.
