An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the retail team at Springhill Hospice as a Shop Support Manager. This is a varied and rewarding role providing management cover across our network of hospice shops, leading volunteers, driving sales, and ensuring excellent standards of customer service and compliance. You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of shops in the absence of the Shop Manager, supporting income generation, maximising Gift Aid, maintaining visual merchandising standards, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for customers and volunteers.
This is an exciting time to join our retail team as we are growing our operation, offering the chance to make a real impact while supporting the vital work of the Hospice. This post is arranged on a bank basis, with hours provided in line with service demand. There is an expectation to complete at least one shift per month.

Desired skills and experience include:
- Provide cover in a Shop Manager capacity, in any of the Springhill Hospice shops in the absence of the designated Shop Manager due to planned or unexpected absence. This will sometimes require travel to a shop at short notice.
- Adapt to the teams at each shop, managing and leading the shop and its volunteers, and staff where appropriate whilst ensuring income and Gift Aid targets are achieved, maximising sales and maintaining standards within the shop.
- Provide effective leadership to volunteers, managing and supporting as appropriate to ensure they operate as an effective and motivated team.
