Location: Springhill Hospice. Hours: Flexible. Cover required 9am – 9pm every day.

As the front‑line contact at the Hospice you will provide excellent face‑to‑face and telephone customer service to patients, their loved ones, supporters and external contacts. You will provide basic administrative support to the admin team and process donations and sales through the till.

General responsibilities and duties:

  • Greeting visitors to the Hospice.
  • Receiving post and parcels.
  • Handling and transferring telephone calls using a small switchboard.
  • Liaise with staff upon the arrival of visitors and contractors to the Hospice.
  • Accept and process donations, promoting Gift Aid on all donations made.
  • Photocopying and operating the franking machine for outgoing post.
  • Operating sales via the EPOS till for the small Hospice shop and staff/visitor food orders.
  • Ad‑hoc admin/reception duties.

This is training crucial to the role

Training Course:

  • Communications training – Required before starting. Mandatory. Frequency: Every 3 years.
  • Customer Service training – Required before starting. Mandatory. Frequency: Every 3 years.
