Job Overview
We are seeking a Staff Nurse (Band 5) for our Short Stay mixed gender Psychiatric Ward at Springfield University Hospital.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care to service users without direct supervision.
- Coordinate the care given by colleagues.
- Deliver high quality safe nursing care in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council code of professional conduct.
- Lead the delivery of comprehensive service user assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of person‑centred care in collaboration with the MDT.
- Assess and monitor physical health of service users.
- Maintain service user rights and accurate records.
- Supervise junior staff and students.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic working environment.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (Band 5) with nursing registration recognised by the NMC.
- Experience in mental health nursing or willingness to learn mental health practice.
- Excellent communication and relational skills.
- Forward‑thinking and proactive nature.
