Learning Support Assistant – Springfield School

Job Reference: EDV/2026/SS/85760

Location: Central Road, Drayton, Portsmouth, Hampshire, PO6 1QY. This part‑time position (40 weeks including to‑take‑off, insets and one week) runs Monday to Friday 09:00 to 14:45. Salary: £15,610.00 per annum (Actual Salary). Start date: As soon as possible.

Responsibilities

  • Support children with a range of learning difficulties, working within a well‑established team.
  • Assist with teaching, classroom activities and individual learning plans.
  • Provide care, supervision and encouragement to foster a positive learning environment.
  • Maintain clear communication with teachers, parents and relevant professionals.
  • Adhere to safeguarding and welfare procedures.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience working with children with special needs desirable but not essential.
  • Enthusiasm, resilience, initiative, good time management, patience and a passion for working with young people.
  • Capable of working in a multidisciplinary team.
