The Springfield Group are recruiting a Labourer/Sawyer to join our busy timber kit manufacturing team in Bellshill. About the Role The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety in timber frame. As a key member of the team, the Labourer/Sawyer is responsible for operating a saw to cut and shape wood pieces. This position requires skilful operation of the saw, attention to detail, and knowledge of woodworking techniques. The Labourer/Sawyer must be able to read and understand technical drawings. Duties include setting up the sawing machine, adjusting the settings to ensure a precise cut, selecting the proper saw blade, loading and unloading the machine, and inspecting each piece for quality control. The Labourer/Sawyer will also occasionally operate the factory forklift, maintain a safe and clean work environment, follow all safety procedures, and be able to work independently. If you are detail-oriented, and thrive in a hands-on environment, this is an exciting opportunity for you to advance your career in wood working. Previous experience within the timber or construction industry and valid accredited lift truck training (such as NPORS or CPCS) is desired but not essential.
