The Springfield Group are recruiting a Sawyer/Saw Operator to join our timber kit team in a busy manufacturing environment.
About the Role
We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety. As a key member of the team, the Sawyer/Saw Operator is responsible for operating a saw to accurately cut and shape timber components for our timber frame products. This role requires skilful operation of the saw, attention to detail, and knowledge of woodworking techniques. The Sawyer/Saw Operator must be able to read and understand technical drawings. Duties include setting up the sawing machine, adjusting the settings to ensure a precise cut, selecting the proper saw blade, loading and unloading the machine, and inspecting each piece for quality control. The Sawyer/Saw Operator will also occasionally operate the factory forklift, maintain a safe and clean work environment, follow all safety procedures, and be able to work independently.
Previous experience as a Sawyer/Saw Operator, ideally within the timber or construction industry, is preferred but not essential. Experience with a forklift and valid lift truck training (such as NPORS or CPCS) would also be desirable but is not essential, as full training will be provided to the successful candidate.
If you are detail-oriented and thrive in a hands-on environment, this is an exciting opportunity for you to build your skills and develop your career within timber manufacturing.
In return, we offer a competitive package including private health care and a free gym membership.
Springfield Group is an equal opportunities employer.
