Our mission is to ensure safety, empowerment, and advocacy for survivors, while promoting community awareness and prevention efforts. We work collaboratively with local partners to create comprehensive support networks. Our services are designed to offer both immediate assistance and long-term solutions to help individuals rebuild their lives.
This is an on-site part-time position located in Kendal for a Community DASA Worker (IDVA). The role involves providing direct support to individuals affected by domestic abuse, delivering case management, and connecting clients with resources and services within the community. Daily responsibilities include:
- Conducting risk assessments
- Creating safety plans
- Maintaining client confidentiality while ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders
- Coordinating awareness and outreach efforts to foster a supportive and informed community environment
Qualifications:
- Strong Interpersonal Skills, including empathy, active listening, and relationship-building
- Experience in Community Support and Community Health initiatives to assist individuals in accessing relevant resources
- Proficient Communication skills, both verbal and written, for engaging with clients and partners effectively
- Background in Case Management, including planning, coordinating, and monitoring individualized support
- Knowledge of safety and risk assessment protocols is highly desirable
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and within multidisciplinary teams
- IDVA qualification, Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is an advantage
- Experience working in domestic abuse support or advocacy is a plus
