An exciting and crucial opportunity for a highly motivated and committed SENDCo (0.6FTE, TTO) has arisen in Springfield Academy to take a leading part in the development of SEN provision across the wider team.

Job overview

You’ll hold key responsibility for all aspects of leading and managing SEN and wider inclusive provision across the school, including data analysis, supporting planning and implementation of interventions and strategies for SEN pupils alongside the Senior Leadership Team, and monitoring day-to-day operations with regards to the SEN policy and provision. You will act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. You’ll also contribute to evaluation and review processes that are in place, providing further guidance to teaching staff with delivering provision to SEN students and modelling successful inclusive strategies to promote high levels of achievement.

Job requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent alongside an Honours degree
  • Essential experience within team leadership and implementation of SEN policies
  • A sound knowledge of Child Safeguarding and the SEN code of practice
  • Ability to plan and evaluate interventions, using data analysis skills to review EHCP pupils and inform plans for provision
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
