The Head of Customer Engagement Events & Exhibits, EMEA is responsible for increasing customer loyalty and retention amongst librarians, authors and researchers in institutional markets by organising excellent, fit‑for‑purpose events and exhibits and overseeing the execution, planning and budgeting of B2B and B2C Exhibits in the region. In partnership with our internal stakeholders including Sales teams, Research Marketing teams, and Editorial teams, we will develop and implement events and exhibits utilising internal and external resources. The Head ensures the branding and professional profile of Springer Nature in all institutional markets in events, exhibits and partnership settings and is the point of contact for our stakeholders in EMEA. The Head will head the EMEA Events & Exhibits teams and support and guide the (Sr)Events & Exhibits manager(s) in the region.
Responsibilities
- Plans, organises, executes and oversees the annual program of institutional customer events in the region.
- Provides strategic marketing input and market research support to new event development initiatives and understands and monitors new opportunities, trends, and competition in the scientific B2B2C event marketplace, recommending actions for opportunities.
- Works collaboratively within Research Marketing teams as well as with Sales and Editorial teams to build brand awareness through the development of engaging content to nurture leads, demonstrate value, and position Springer Nature as the industry thought leader.
- Is responsible for tracking and maximising lead generation and ROI on all executed events and exhibits.
- Co‑creates content of institutional events including development of session topics, agenda setting, contacting internal session leaders, setting up session structure, preparing sessions, creating final master deck, and delivering meeting summary.
- Coordinates internal and customer‑facing communication.
- Monitors and reports on event budget, planning and results, leads, customer satisfaction, ROI related results and reports back to relevant stakeholders.
